This is Sinan Reçber from Berlin.

Starting in September 2026, I am launching an English-language briefing on European energy and climate policy—I’ve named it The Kelvin Report, after the Kelvin unit of temperature.

Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 6 a.m., subscribers will receive news, analysis, and interviews regarding the energy transition and climate action in Europe directly in their inboxes—editions designed to help professionals advance in their daily work.

I am doing this on my own in Berlin—without the backing of a major publisher or significant external support.

What motivates me to take on this project is the fact that the European Union—with its 450 million inhabitants—aims to become the first climate-neutral "continent" by 2050. This means largely weaning itself off coal, oil, and natural gas in less than 25 years.

A great deal is at stake in this endeavor: energy independence, technological leadership, and the goal of curbing the climate crisis.

Yet, even though fellow journalists report on these topics daily, I feel we still aren't talking, writing, or debating them enough. And when we do, it is often from a purely national perspective—lacking the necessary depth and failing to use a language understood by the majority of people across the EU.

I want to change that with The Kelvin Report by launching a briefing that provides a knowledge advantage in the field of European energy and climate policy. To do so, I will need the support of the individuals and organizations who engage with these issues in their daily work and care deeply about them.
